Stress is a word referring to the effect the mind exerts on the body, which occurs when combined tensions & pressures of life become greater than a person’s ability to handle them.

A little stress is good for you. But severe, prolonged stress can damage both your physical and mental health. Un-managed stress is the real problem.
Synonyms for stress: pressure, tension, strain, tightness, worry anxiety, burden, hardship, agony, hassle, nerve-racking, annoying, on edge, agitated, bothered, harassed, troubled, distressed.
Some symptoms of stress are:
Frequent headaches, stiffness in the neck, shoulders, jaw, arms, legs, hands or stomach, irregular heartbeats, getting dizzy or lightheaded, suffering from colds, flu or hoarseness, indigestion, nausea or discomfort in the stomach, difficulty falling or staying asleep, waking up feeling tired, cold hands or cold feet, excess perspiration, anger or irritability.
